所有在耶路撒冷的以色列人都大大歡喜守除酵之節七天；利未人們和祭司們天天讚美永恆主，極力頌讚永恆主。希西家說好話向一切精練於事奉永恆主的利未人表示關心；於是眾人喫了這制定節期的筵席七天，宰獻着平安祭，稱謝永恆主他們列祖的上帝。全體大眾商議好了、再過節七天；於是大家歡歡喜喜又守了七天。猶大王希西家提獻了公牛一千隻，羊七千隻給大眾；首領們也提獻了公牛一千隻、羊一萬隻給大眾；因此許多祭司便潔淨自己為聖、以便供職。猶大全體大眾、祭司和利未人、從以色列來的全體大眾、以及從以色列地來的寄居者、或是住在猶大的寄居者：大家都歡喜快樂。

那時所羅門和以色列眾人同在一起，從哈馬口到埃及谿谷、一羣極大的大眾、一同過了節七天。第八天他們舉行了聖節會；行獻壇禮七天，過了節七天。
