Servants, be obedient to them that are[ your] masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Slaves, obey your masters here on earth. Respect them and honor them with a heart that is true. Obey them just as you would obey Christ.

Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ,

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.

Behold, as the eyes of servants[ look] unto the hand of their masters,[ and] as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes[ wait] upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and[ his] doctrine be not blasphemed.And they that have believing masters, let them not despise[ them], because they are brethren; but rather do[ them] service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words,[ even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present[ you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

While they behold your chaste conversation[ coupled] with fear.

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.

Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;And when he had declared all[ these] things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this[ man], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth[ it].

And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

For he that is called in the Lord,[ being] a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called,[ being] free, is Christ’s servant.

And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
