是以我為基督使、雖繫鐵索、得侃侃言、如所當言、

我為此福音為使者、而陷於縲絏之中、當求主使我得毅然而傳、如所當言、

蓋我已為福音之故而成為被鍊加鎖之星使。果能不為威武所屈、侃侃而談、庶幾不辱使命、是所至願也。

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Because of the good news, I am being held by chains as the Lord’s messenger. So pray that I will be bold as I preach the good news. That’s what I should do.

for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains;

so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the praetorian guard and to everyone else,and that most of the brothers and sisters, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear.

What I tell you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops.And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Behold, their brave men cry out in the streets, The ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.

preaching the kingdom of God and teaching things about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered.

Then David said,“ I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, just as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent some of his servants to console him about his father. But when David’s servants came to the land of the Ammonites,the commanders of the Ammonites said to their lord Hanun,“ Do you think that David is simply honoring your father since he has sent you servants to console you? Has David not sent his servants to you in order to explore the city, to spy it out and overthrow it?”So Hanun took David’s servants and shaved off half of their beards, and cut off their robes in the middle as far as their buttocks, and sent them away.When messengers informed David, he sent servants to meet them, because the men were extremely humiliated. And the king said,“ Stay in Jericho until your beards grow back, and then you shall return.”Now when the sons of Ammon saw that they had become repulsive to David, the sons of Ammon sent messengers and hired the Arameans of Beth rehob and the Arameans of Zobah, twenty thousand foot soldiers, and the king of Maacah with a thousand men, and the men of Tob with twelve thousand men.

Now, belt your garment around your waist and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before them, or I will make you dismayed before them.

A wicked messenger falls into adversity, But a faithful messenger brings healing.

“ Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their wrongdoing, And to the house of Jacob their sins.

Then the commander came up and took hold of him, and ordered that he be bound with two chains; and he began asking who he was and what he had done.

according to my eager expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

And Paul said,“ I would wish to God that even in a short or long time not only you, but also all who hear me this day would become such as I myself am, except for these chains.”

for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,

and pray in my behalf, that speech may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

But Peter and the apostles answered,“ We must obey God rather than men.

Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all time handed down to the saints.

but after we had already suffered and been treated abusively in Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.
