So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. (niv)

Up to this very day we have not cleansed ourselves from that sin, even though a plague fell on the community of the Lord!And are you now turning away from the Lord?“‘ If you rebel against the Lord today, tomorrow he will be angry with the whole community of Israel. The Lord’s anger burned against Israel and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation of those who had done evil in his sight was gone.“ And here you are, a brood of sinners, standing in the place of your fathers and making the Lord even more angry with Israel.
