He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)

The one who came down is the same one who went up. He went up higher than all the heavens. He did it in order to fill all creation.

So it was necessary for the sketches of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves required better sacrifices than these.For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands– the representation of the true sanctuary– but into heaven itself, and he appears now in God’s presence for us.

I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son

This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realmsfar above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things.Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

and thus the Gentiles glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,“ Because of this I will confess you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praises to your name.”And again it says:“ Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.”And again,“ Praise the Lord all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him.”And again Isaiah says,“ The root of Jesse will come, and the one who rises to rule over the Gentiles, in him will the Gentiles hope.”Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors,that this promise God has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second psalm,‘ You are my Son; today I have fathered you.’

For we have all received from his fullness one gracious gift after another.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that had been kept secret for long ages,but now is disclosed, and through the prophetic scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith–

and said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you saw him go into heaven.”

So the soldiers said to one another,“ Let’s not tear it, but throw dice to see who will get it.” This took place to fulfill the scripture that says,“ They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they threw dice.” So the soldiers did these things.

But the things God foretold long ago through all the prophets– that his Christ would suffer– he has fulfilled in this way.

Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We have such a high priest, one who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,

And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

Then he said to them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled.”

So then, exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he has poured out what you both see and hear.

For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled,“ Not a bone of his will be broken.”

and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

After this Jesus, realizing that by this time everything was completed, said( in order to fulfill the scripture),“ I am thirsty!”

As he also says in Hosea:“ I will call those who were not my people,‘ My people,’ and I will call her who was unloved,‘ My beloved.’”“ And in the very place where it was said to them,‘ You are not my people,’ there they will be called‘ sons of the living God.’”And Isaiah cries out on behalf of Israel,“ Though the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved,for the Lord will execute his sentence on the earth completely and quickly.”Just as Isaiah predicted,“ If the Lord of armies had not left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have resembled Gomorrah.”What shall we say then?– that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith,
