But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner[ stone];

But the Comforter,[ which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

And to make all[ men] see what[ is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,[ that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and[ some] of them they shall slay and persecute:

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous[ men] have desired to see[ those things] which ye see, and have not seen[ them]; and to hear[ those things] which ye hear, and have not heard[ them].

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace[ that should come] unto you:Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.[ Are] all apostles?[ are] all prophets?[ are] all teachers?[ are] all workers of miracles?

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another[ divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen[ them]; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard[ them].

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and[ some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and[ some] of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute[ them] from city to city:

While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
