基督為我儕身受苦難、爾曹亦當有此心志、以為鎧甲、蓋凡身受苦難者、息於犯罪、使爾曹今後不從人慾、而順天主之旨、以度在世所餘之光陰、

彼以其身、廢冤仇之由、即教守儀文之律法、欲於己身使二者成為一新造之人、如是、使之得和、

我與基督同釘於十字架、而我仍生、非我生、乃基督在我內而生、且今我在身而生、乃以信天主子而生、彼曾愛我、為我舍己者也、

體肉體、乃與天主為仇、因不服天主之法、且不能服也、

蓋知我儕舊日之我、舊日之我原文作本體之舊人與之同釘十字架、以滅罪身、使我儕不復為罪所役、
