But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
So now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and appoint him over the land of Egypt.Let Pharaoh take action to appoint overseers in charge of the land, and let him take a fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt as a tax in the seven years of abundance. Then have them collect all the food of these good years that are coming, and store up the grain for food in the cities under Pharaoh’s authority, and have them guard it.Let the food be used as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which will occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land will not perish during the famine.”Now the proposal seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his servants. Then Pharaoh said to his servants,“ Can we find a man like this, in whom there is a divine spirit?”So Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you are.You shall be in charge of my house, and all my people shall be obedient to you; only regarding the throne will I be greater than you.”
Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him alone; and He will save you from the hand of the Philistines.”So the sons of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the Lord alone. Then Samuel said,“ Gather all Israel to Mizpah and I will pray to the Lord for you.”So they gathered to Mizpah, and drew water and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day and said there,“ We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the sons of Israel at Mizpah.
