此皆我所見者、專心詳察日下所作諸事、見操權者、有時使人受害、

我詳觀天下事、見有陷害同儔者、

凡此我嘗見之、我專心詳觀日下所作之事、有時人轄人、致人受害、有時人轄人致人受害或作有時人轄人致自受害

All this I saw, as I applied my mind to everything done under the sun. There is a time when a man lords it over others to his own hurt.

I understood all these things. I used my mind to study everything that’s done on earth. A man sometimes makes life hard for others. But he ends up hurting himself.

All this I observed while applying my heart to all that is done under the sun, when man had power over man to his hurt.

I have thought deeply about all that goes on here under the sun, where people have the power to hurt each other.

All this I have seen, applying my mind to all the work that is done under the sun, at a time when one person has authority over another to his harm.

你若在一个地区看见穷人受欺压，公义公平被掠夺，不要因此惊奇；有一位高过居高位的在鉴察，在他们之上还有更高的。

我见日光之下有一件令人忧伤的祸患，就是财主积存财富，反害自己。

我转而观看日光之下有一件虚空的事：有人孤单无双，无子无兄弟，竟劳碌不息，眼目也不以财富为满足。他说：“我劳碌，自己却不享福，到底是为了谁呢？”这也是虚空，是极沉重的担子。

有人报告埃及王说：“百姓逃跑了！”法老和他的臣仆对百姓改变了心意，说：“我们放以色列人走，不再服事我们，我们怎么会做这种事呢？”法老就预备战车，带领他的军兵同去，他带了六百辆特选的战车和埃及所有的战车，每辆都有军官。耶和华任凭埃及王法老的心刚硬，他就追赶以色列人；以色列人却抬起头来出去了。埃及人追赶他们，法老一切的马匹、战车、战车长，与军兵就在海边上，靠近比‧哈希录，在巴力‧洗分的前面，在他们安营的地方追上了。

我见日光之下所发生的一切事，看哪，全是虚空，全是捕风。

但希实本王西宏不肯让我们从他那里经过，因为耶和华—你的神使他性情顽梗，内心刚硬，为要把他交在你手中，像今日一样。

你果然打败了以东，就心高气傲。你以此为荣，就待在自己家里算了吧，为何要惹祸，使自己和犹大一同败亡呢？”亚玛谢却不肯听从。于是以色列王约阿施上来，在犹大的伯‧示麦与犹大王亚玛谢面对面较量。犹大败在以色列面前，他们逃跑，各人逃回自己的帐棚去了。

海水回流，淹没了战车和战车长，以及那些跟着以色列人下到海中的法老全军，连一个也没有剩下。

他们在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女，挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁着他，带到巴比伦去。

我观看神给世人的担子，使他们在其中劳苦：

我转念，一心要知道，要考察，要寻求智慧和万事的来由，要知道邪恶为愚昧，愚昧为狂妄。
