未來之事、彼不之知、其事之終、孰能告之、

氣之呼吸不能自主、死之猝至、亦不自持、在彼疆場、不能倖免、多行強暴、終難逭罰。

未來之事、人不能知、將成之事、孰能預告之、

Since no one knows the future, who can tell someone else what is to come?

No one knows what lies ahead. So who can tell someone else what’s going to happen?

For he does not know what is to be, for who can tell him how it will be?

Indeed, how can people avoid what they don’t know is going to happen?

Yet no one knows what will happen because who can tell him what will happen?

If no one knows what will happen, who can tell him when it will happen?

For he does not know what will happen; So who can tell him when it will occur?

for he knoweth not that which shall be; for who can tell him how it shall be?

Yet no one knows what will happen because who can tell him what will happen?

For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?

Surely no one knows the future, and no one can tell another person what will happen.

For he doesn’t know that which will be; for who can tell him how it will be?

Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them. (niv)

for those two will send sudden destruction on them, and who knows what calamities they can bring? (niv)

and fools multiply words. No one knows what is coming— who can tell someone else what will happen after them? (niv)

For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow? Who can tell them what will happen under the sun after they are gone? (niv)

“ At midnight the cry rang out:‘ Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’“ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.The foolish ones said to the wise,‘ Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’“‘ No,’ they replied,‘ there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’“ But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.“ Later the others also came.‘ Lord, Lord,’ they said,‘ open the door for us!’“ But he replied,‘ Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’“ Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. (niv)

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (niv)

Whoever remains stiff- necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy. (niv)

Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you,for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.While people are saying,“ Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (niv)

So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them? (niv)
