彼所悅者、錫以智慧、知識歡樂、惟以憂勞加於罪人、使其所收所積、歸於上帝所悅者、斯亦虛空、乃為捕風、

上帝所悅者、賜以智慧歡樂、若惡人則勞苦之、以其所積貨財、賜於善良、凡百之事、無非捕風捉影、以此益見矣。

天主所悅者、賜以智慧、知識、歡樂、獲罪於天主者、天主則畀以收斂積蓄之任、終歸於天主所悅者用、此亦屬於虛、亦如捕風、

To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness to the person who pleases him. But to a sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth. Then the sinner must hand it over to the one who pleases God. That doesn’t have any meaning either. It’s like chasing the wind.

For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him. This, too, is meaningless— like chasing the wind.

For to the person who is pleasing in his sight, he gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and accumulating in order to give to the one who is pleasing in God’s sight. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

For to a person who is good in His sight, He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God’s sight. This too is futility and striving after wind.

善人遺業於子孫、罪人積財歸義者、

彼雖積金如塵、備衣如土、然彼備之、而義人衣之、無辜者分其金、

爾未嘗以我名而求、求則必得、致爾之樂盈焉、○

宜語義者福矣、必食其行之果、禍哉惡人、必遘凶殃、將依其手所為而受報也、

人取利以增財、乃為恤貧者積蓄之、

希西家在猶大全地、如是而行、為其上帝耶和華所視為善、為正為忠者、凡其所行、或供上帝室之役、或遵律守誡、求其上帝、皆一心行之、無不亨通、

獲智慧、得明哲者、其人福矣、得之愈於得銀、其利愈於精金、貴於珍珠、凡可慕者、無足比擬、右持壽考、左執富貴、其道安樂、其徑平康、持之者以為生命之樹、守之者咸有福祉、

惟爾本乎上帝、在基督耶穌中、彼由於上帝、而為智為義為聖為贖於我儕者也、如經云、誇者當於主而誇焉、

二人在上帝前、義者也、於主之誡命禮儀、悉遵行之、無間然也、

耶和華諭挪亞曰、爾與眷屬、可入方舟、蓋於斯世、我視爾為義也、

當以基督之道充實爾衷、智慧俱備、以詩、以歌、以靈賦、相教相戒、中心感恩、以頌上帝、凡所言所行、悉宜以主耶穌名為之、且由之謝父上帝焉、○

故我儕自聞之之日、為爾祈禱不已、俾爾充諸靈智靈識、洞悉其旨、致所行合乎主、盡悅其意、於諸善工結實、於識上帝增益、又依其有榮之權力、以諸能益爾能、俾於諸事久耐、恆忍、喜樂、且謝天父、使我儕堪與諸聖徒同得光明之業、

蓋上帝之國、不在飲食、惟義與安、及聖神中之樂也、以此而事基督者、為上帝所悅、世人所稱、

惟聖神之果、乃仁愛、喜樂、和平、恆忍、慈惠、良善、忠信、溫柔、節制、如此者、無律禁之、

惟自上之智、則首貞潔、次和平、溫良、柔順、充以矜恤與善果、無貳無偽、

然人衷有神、全能者之氣、畀以聰明、

我見日下所為之事、悉屬虛空、莫非捕風、
