I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.

I feared that the furious anger of the Lord, which turned him against you, would drive him to destroy you. But again he listened to me.

所以你們要彼此認罪，互相代禱，好得到醫治。義人的禱告有極大的力量和功效。以利亞先知和我們一樣同是血肉之軀，他懇切地祈求不要下雨，結果三年半沒有下雨。

你不要阻止我，我要向他們發烈怒，毀滅他們。我要使你的後代成為大國。」摩西懇求他的上帝耶和華說：「耶和華啊，你為什麼要向你的子民發烈怒呢？這些子民是你親自用神蹟和大能從埃及領出來的。

祂的祭司中有摩西和亞倫，呼求祂的人中有撒母耳。他們求告耶和華，祂就應允他們。

耶和華回答說：「我答應你的請求，因為你在我面前蒙了恩，我憑名字認識你。」

蝗蟲吃盡地上的青苗時，我說：「主耶和華啊，求你赦免！雅各那麼弱小，他怎麼受得了呢？」於是，耶和華心生憐憫，說：「我不降這災了。」

從猶大來了我的一個兄弟哈拿尼和一些人，我問他們有關從流亡之地歸回的猶太餘民和耶路撒冷的情況。他們回答說：「那些從流亡之地歸回猶大省的人深陷苦難，飽受凌辱。耶路撒冷的城牆已經倒塌，城門也被燒毀。」我一聽見這消息，就坐下痛哭，悲傷了好幾天。我在天上的上帝面前禁食禱告，說：「天上的上帝耶和華啊，你是偉大而可畏的上帝，你向愛你、守你誡命的人守約，施慈愛。僕人在你面前晝夜為你的眾僕人以色列民祈禱，求你睜眼察看，側耳傾聽。我承認以色列人向你所犯的罪，以及我和我的家族所犯的罪。我們行事敗壞，沒有遵守你賜給你僕人摩西的誡命、律例和典章。

那時，我說：「主耶和華啊，求你停止吧！雅各那麼弱小，他怎麼受得了呢？」於是，耶和華心生憐憫，說：「我也不降這災了。」

「朋友們，我告訴你們，不要懼怕那些殺害人的身體後再也無計可施的人。我告訴你們應該懼怕誰，要懼怕上帝——祂有權終結人的生命，並把人丟在地獄裡。是的，我告訴你們，要懼怕祂！

因此祂說要消滅他們。若不是祂所揀選的摩西為他們求情，祂早已在烈怒中毀滅了他們。

在何烈山，你們觸怒了耶和華，以致祂要毀滅你們。
