( I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you Yahweh’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain) saying,

那麼，為甚麼要有律法呢？是為了過犯的緣故才加上的，直到那得應許的後裔來到。律法是藉著天使經中保的手設立的；

到了第三天早晨的時候，山上有雷聲、閃電和密雲，並且角聲非常強大，以致所有在營中的人民都顫抖。

全體人民都看見打雷、閃電、角聲和冒著煙的山；人民看見了，就顫抖，遠遠地站著。他們對摩西說：“求你和我們說話吧，我們必定聽你的話，不可讓神和我們說話，恐怕我們死亡。”摩西回答人民：“不要懼怕，因為神降臨是要試驗你們，叫你們常常敬畏他，不至犯罪。”於是，人民遠遠地站著，摩西卻走近神所在的幽暗之中。

你們不是來到那座摸得著的山。那裡有烈火、密雲、幽暗、暴風、號筒的響聲和說話的聲音；那些聽見這聲音的人，都請求神不要再向他們多說話；因為他們擔當不起那命令：“就是走獸挨近這山，也要用石頭把牠打死。”當時，顯出的景象是那麼可怕，連摩西也說：“我非常恐懼戰兢。”你們卻是來到錫安山和永活的神的城，就是天上的耶路撒冷；在那裡有千萬的天使聚集，有名字登記在天上眾長子的教會，有審判眾人的神，有被成全的義人的靈魂，有新約的中保耶穌，還有他所灑的血。這血所傳的信息比亞伯的血所傳的更美。

只有摩西一人可以走近耶和華，他們卻不可以親近；人民也不可和摩西一同上來。”摩西下來，把耶和華的一切話和一切典章都向人民講述；人民都同聲回答，說：“耶和華吩咐的一切話，我們都必遵行。”

因為基督不是進了人手所做的聖所（那不過是真聖所的表象），而是進到天上，現在替我們顯露在神的面前。

他們的元首必是他們自己的人，他們的統治者必出自他們中間；我必使他近前來，他也必親近我，不然，誰敢冒生命的危險來親近我呢？’這是耶和華的宣告。

現在求你走前去，聽聽耶和華我們的神要說的一切話；然後你要把耶和華我們的神對你所說的一切話，都告訴我們；我們就必聽從，也必遵行。’

耶和華又使我看見大祭司約書亞站在耶和華的使者面前，撒但也站在約書亞右邊控告他。耶和華對撒但說：“撒但哪！耶和華斥責你，那揀選了耶路撒冷的耶和華斥責你。這個人不是從火中抽出來的一根柴嗎？”那時，約書亞穿著污穢的衣服，站在使者的面前。使者吩咐那些侍立在他面前的說：“你們要脫去他污穢的衣服。”又對約書亞說：“看哪！我已經除去了你的罪孽，要給你穿上華美的禮服。”我說：“你們要把潔淨的冠冕戴在他的頭上。”他們就把潔淨的冠冕戴在他的頭上，又給他穿上華美的衣服。那時，耶和華的使者正在旁邊站著。

所以他說要滅絕他們，不是有他揀選的摩西，在他面前站在破口上，使他的怒氣轉消，恐怕他早已毀滅他們了。

其中二人從那裡動身，向所多瑪走去，亞伯拉罕卻仍然站在耶和華面前。

他站在死人與活人中間，瘟疫就止住了。
