It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made; and it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.Now a mediator is not a mediator of one; but God is one.Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, verily righteousness would have been of the law.

And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.
