and he said unto them, Set your heart unto all the words which I testify unto you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, even all the words of this law.

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.

The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings.Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thy heart.For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.

And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, It is because of that which Jehovah did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt.

Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

My son, forget not my law; But let thy heart keep my commandments:For length of days, and years of life, And peace, will they add to thee.Let not kindness and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart:

My son, give me thy heart; And let thine eyes delight in my ways.

Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not, Until I have declared thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.

My son, let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them.

that this may be a sign among you, that, when your children ask in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?then ye shall say unto them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.What man is he that desireth life, And loveth many days, that he may see good?Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are open unto their cry.The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Thy word have I laid up in my heart, That I might not sin against thee.

And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that Jehovah slew all the first- born in the land of Egypt, both the first- born of man, and the first- born of beast: therefore I sacrifice to Jehovah all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first- born of my sons I redeem.And it shall be for a sign upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt.

My son, keep my words, And lay up my commandments with thee.

Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach thou it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect;

how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard;

Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of form on the day that Jehovah spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire;

Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he thinketh he hath.

Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image in the form of anything which Jehovah thy God hath forbidden thee.

The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: The father to the children shall make known thy truth.

Whosoever he be that shall rebel against thy commandment, and shall not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of good courage.
