他们又与巴力‧毗珥连合，吃了祭死人的物。他们这样行，惹耶和华发怒，就有瘟疫流行在他们中间。

看哪，正是这些妇女，因巴兰的话，在毗珥的事上导致以色列人背叛耶和华，以致耶和华的会众遭遇瘟疫。

我发现以色列，如在旷野的葡萄；我看见你们的祖先，如春季无花果树上初熟的果子。他们却来到巴力‧毗珥，献上自己做羞耻的事，成为可憎恶的，与他们所爱的一样。

这些被数的人中，没有一个是摩西和亚伦祭司先前在西奈旷野所数的以色列人，

从前我们在毗珥犯的罪孽，导致瘟疫临到耶和华的会众，甚至到今日都还没有洗净，这还算小事吗？
