Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.

You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you.

你不可加添他的言語，恐怕他責備你，你就顯為說謊的。

我警告一切聽見這書上預言的人：若有人在這預言上加添甚麼，神必將記在這書上的災禍加在他身上。這書上的預言，若有人刪去甚麼，神必從這書上所記的生命樹和聖城刪去他的份。

只要剛強，大大壯膽，謹守遵行我僕人摩西所吩咐你的一切律法，不可偏離左右，使你無論往哪裏去，都可以順利。

弟兄們，我照着人的觀點說，人的遺囑一經確定，沒有人能廢棄或加增。

我實在告訴你們，就是到天地都廢去，律法的一點一畫也不能廢去，直到一切都實現。

這些事都已聽見了，結論就是：敬畏神，謹守他的誡命，這是人當盡的本分。

「你的門徒為甚麼違反古人的傳統？因為他們吃飯的時候不洗手。」耶穌回答他們：「你們為甚麼因你們的傳統而違反神的誡命呢？神說：『當孝敬父母』；又說：『咒罵父母的，必須處死。』你們倒說：『無論誰對父母說：我所當供奉你的已經作了奉獻，就可以不孝敬他的父親。』這就是你們藉着傳統，廢了神的話。假冒為善的人哪！以賽亞指着你們所預言的說得好：『這百姓用嘴唇尊敬我，他們的心卻遠離我。他們把人的規條當作教義教導人；他們拜我也是枉然。』」

有法利賽人和幾個從耶路撒冷來的文士聚集到耶穌那裏。他們曾看見他的門徒中有人用不潔淨的手，就是沒有洗的手吃飯。法利賽人和所有的猶太人都拘守古人的傳統，若不按規矩洗手就不吃飯；從市場來，若不洗淨也不吃飯；他們還拘守好些別的規矩，如洗杯、罐、銅器、床鋪等。法利賽人和文士問他說：「你的門徒為甚麼不照古人的傳統，竟然用不潔淨的手吃飯呢？」耶穌對他們說：「以賽亞指着你們假冒為善的人所預言的說得好。如經上所記：『這百姓用嘴唇尊敬我，他們的心卻遠離我。他們把人的規條當作教義教導人；他們拜我也是枉然。』你們是離棄神的誡命，拘守人的傳統。」耶穌又說：「你們誠然是廢棄神的誡命，為要守自己的傳統。摩西說：『當孝敬父母』；又說：『咒罵父母的，必須處死。』你們倒說：『人若對父母說：我所當供奉你的已經作了各耳板』（各耳板就是奉獻的意思），你們就容許他不必再奉養父母。這就是你們藉着繼承傳統，廢了神的話。你們還做許多這樣的事。」

「你們聽過有話說：『要愛你的鄰舍，恨你的仇敵。』
