About Levi he said:“ Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful servant. You tested him at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah.

Here’s what Moses said about Levi.“ Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful servant. You tested him at Massah. You argued with him at the waters of Meribah.

And of Levi he said,“ Give to Levi your Thummim, and your Urim to your godly one, whom you tested at Massah, with whom you quarreled at the waters of Meribah;

Moses said this about the tribe of Levi:“ O Lord, you have given your Thummim and Urim— the sacred lots— to your faithful servants the Levites. You put them to the test at Massah and struggled with them at the waters of Meribah.

He said about Levi: Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful one; you tested him at Massah and contended with him at the Waters of Meribah.

Of Levi he said,“ Let Your Thummim and Your Urim belong to Your godly man, Whom You tested at Massah, With whom You contended at the waters of Meribah;

因以色列人爭於彼、又試主曰、主果在我中否、故摩西稱其地曰瑪撒、瑪撒譯即試之義又稱米利巴、米利巴譯即爭之義○

以烏陵與土明置於胸牌內、使亞倫至耶和華前時服於膺、如是、亞倫於耶和華前、可常服以色列族決斷之物於膺、○

緣此時以色列人向主爭競、主在其前顯己為聖、故稱此水為米利巴、米利巴譯即爭競之義○

佩以胸牌、以烏陵土明、置於胸牌之內、

彼在營中嫉妒摩西、嫉妒主所選之聖人亞倫、

彼立祭司以利亞撒前、以利亞撒為之在主前問烏陵、彼與以色列人會眾出入、當循以利亞撒所傳之命、

方伯謂之曰、不可食至聖之物、直至有祭司興、用烏陵與土明決疑、用烏陵與土明決疑或作能問烏陵與土明○

惟祭司及供役之利未人、乃聖潔者、可入主殿、其外無人可入、民眾當護衛主之殿、

掃羅問於主、主不之應、又祈夢、問烏陵、問先知、俱不得指示、

妓女與被玷之女毋娶、被休之婦亦毋娶、蓋在其天主前當為聖、

如此大祭司、原為我儕所需、聖潔、無玷無垢、遠乎罪人、升天無上、

以精金作牌、按鐫印法、鐫字於上、曰為聖歸於主、

方伯謂之曰、不可食至聖之物、直至有祭司興、用烏陵與土明決疑、用烏陵與土明決疑或作能問烏陵與土明○

主必不將我靈魂遺棄於示阿勒、示阿勒見六篇五節小註主必不使敬主虔誠人朽壞、

爾急難時呼籲我、我拯救爾、從雲密雷鳴之處應允爾、在米利巴水試驗爾、細拉、

爾當書達非拉叠非教會使者曰、為聖為誠、執大衛之鑰、啟則莫能閉、閉則莫能啟者、如是云、

我告之曰、爾乃奉事主之聖潔人、此器皿亦聖潔、此金銀為人所樂輸、獻於主爾列祖之天主、

謂可拉及其黨曰、明日主必示孰屬主、孰為聖、孰可近於主、主所選者、主必容之就己、

又在曠野、以爾祖不識之瑪拿飼爾、使爾自卑、以試驗爾、使爾終必享福、

爾當憶主爾之天主導爾於曠野、歷四十年、使爾自卑、以試驗爾、欲知爾心中如何、能守其誡否、使爾卑微、使爾饑餓、以爾與爾祖所未識之瑪拿賜爾食、使爾知人不獨恃餅得生、亦恃凡由主口所出之言得生、
