I will make my arrows drunk with blood, while my sword devours flesh: the blood of the slain and the captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.”

我要把灾祸加在他们身上，把我的箭向他们射尽。

那是主万军之耶和华的日子，是报仇的日子，他要向自己的敌人报仇；刀剑必吞噬、饱餐他们的肉，痛饮他们的血。因为在北方，靠近幼发拉底河之地，主万军之耶和华要屠宰敌人像杀祭牲一样。

你为什么掩面，把我当作你的仇敌呢？

“你们要在埃及传扬，在密夺宣告，在挪弗和答比匿宣扬，说：‘要站好岗位，作好准备，因为刀剑要吞灭你周围的人！’

你所有的盟友都忘记了你，不再关心你；我击打了你，好像仇敌击打你，又好像残暴的人惩罚你一样；都因你的罪孽甚多，你的罪恶无数。

你的箭锐利，射中了王的仇敌的心；万民都仆倒在你脚下。

主好像成了仇敌；他吞灭了以色列和她所有的宫殿，毁坏了她的坚固城。他在犹大居民的中间，增添了悲哀和哭号。

好使你在他们的血中洗自己的脚（按照《马索拉文本》，本句应作“好使你在血中打碎自己的脚”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），使你的狗的舌头也有分舔仇敌的血。”
