“ The Lord saw this and drew back, provoked to anger by his own sons and daughters.

「耶和華看見祂兒女的惡行，就憤然厭棄他們，

因為他的兒女激怒了神，耶和華看見了，就棄絕了他們，

『因他的兒女惹了神怒，永恆主看見、就不理睬。

耶和華見而憎之、因其子女干厥震怒、

耶和華見其子女、作可惡之事、憎之特甚、

主見之甚怒、或作主見此即屏棄其民蓋其子女激其忿懥、

The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters.

When the Lord saw this, he turned away from them. His sons and daughters made him angry.

“ The Lord saw it and spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

When the LORD saw this, he despised them, angered by his sons and daughters.

“ The Lord saw this, and spurned them Because of the provocation by His sons and daughters.

“ And when the Lord saw it, He spurned them, Because of the provocation of His sons and His daughters.

And Jehovah saw it, and abhorred them, Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

When the Lord saw this, He despised them, provoked to anger by His sons and daughters.

And when the LORD saw[ it], he abhorred[ them], because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

But the LORD took note and despised them because his sons and daughters enraged him.

Yahweh saw and abhorred, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

That is why the Lord’s anger burned against his people, and he abhorred his own special possession.

Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth! This is what the Lord says:“ The children I raised and cared for have rebelled against me.

This made the Lord burn with anger against Israel, so he handed them over to raiders who stole their possessions. He turned them over to their enemies all around, and they were no longer able to resist them.

I say,‘ You are gods; you are all children of the Most High.But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.’”

He has broken down his Temple as though it were merely a garden shelter. The Lord has blotted out all memory of the holy festivals and Sabbath days. Kings and priests fall together before his fierce anger.

“ Do you think the Lord did not know that you and your ancestors, your kings and officials, and all the people were burning incense to idols in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?It was because the Lord could no longer bear all the disgusting things you were doing that he made your land an object of cursing— a desolate ruin without inhabitants— as it is today.All these terrible things happened to you because you have burned incense to idols and sinned against the Lord. You have refused to obey him and have not followed his instructions, his decrees, and his laws.”

For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the Lord.

“ From among all the families on the earth, I have been intimate with you alone. That is why I must punish you for all your sins.”Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?

But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

When God heard them, he was very angry, and he completely rejected Israel.

I got rid of their three evil shepherds in a single month. But I became impatient with these sheep, and they hated me, too.

I will live among you, and I will not despise you.

“ What right do my beloved people have to come to my Temple, when they have done so many immoral things? Can their vows and sacrifices prevent their destruction? They actually rejoice in doing evil!

O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness; you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked.
