So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Then David continued,“ Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly.

“ So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.

The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

But don’t be afraid of them! Just remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the land of Egypt.

“ But I said to you,‘ Don’t be shocked or afraid of them!

“ Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged,” Joshua told his men.“ Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is going to do this to all of your enemies.”

For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!

But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says,“ Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place.Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.“ Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west.

“ When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,“ I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

Then the Lord commissioned Joshua son of Nun with these words:“ Be strong and courageous, for you must bring the people of Israel into the land I swore to give them. I will be with you.”

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.“ Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do.

“ I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear?

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.

So take this seriously. The Lord has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.”

For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you,‘ Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the Lord, your Redeemer. I am the Holy One of Israel.’You will be a new threshing instrument with many sharp teeth. You will tear your enemies apart, making chaff of mountains.You will toss them into the air, and the wind will blow them all away; a whirlwind will scatter them. Then you will rejoice in the Lord. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.“ When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the Lord, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will never abandon them.

But now the Lord says: Be strong, Zerubbabel. Be strong, Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people still left in the land. And now get to work, for I am with you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the solemn covenant he made with your ancestors.

“ But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars— their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

He will say to them,‘ Listen to me, all you men of Israel! Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them.For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’

Among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. But no longer! Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So don’t be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the Temple!

Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”

Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him,“ Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land.

“ Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side!
