耶和華諭摩西曰、屬以色列族之耆老、於其中簡七十人、必爾夙知其為民之長老族長、攜至會幕前、與爾偕立。我將臨格、偕爾晤言、取爾所感之神、賦之於彼使同任民事、免爾獨勞。

今日爾與族中最著者、長老族長、暨以色列眾、爰及妻孥、營中之賓旅、自採樵者及汲水者、俱立於爾上帝耶和華前。

曰、吾語汝、若輩緘默、石能言矣、○

雅各召眾子曰、當集於前、我將以異日之事告爾。惟爾眾子、宜咸集、聽乃父以色列之言。

天其聞之、地其聽之、耶和華曰、我養民如保赤子、而反忤逆。
