Assemble the people— men, women and children, and the foreigners residing in your towns— so they can listen and learn to fear the Lord your God and follow carefully all the words of this law.

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (niv)

Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. (niv)

The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous.They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (niv)

and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites— men, women and children— gathered around him. They too wept bitterly. (niv)

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, (niv)

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. (niv)
