when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose, you shall read this law before them in their hearing.

That’s when all the Israelites come to appear in front of the Lord your God at the holy tent. It will be at the place he will choose. You must read this law to them.

“ Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths; and they are not to appear before the Lord empty handed.Everyone shall give as he is able, in accordance with the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.

For from ancient generations Moses has those who preach him in every city, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Then on the second day the heads of fathers’ households of all the people, the priests, and the Levites were gathered to Ezra the scribe so that they might gain insight into the words of the Law.

And all the people gathered as one person at the public square which was in front of the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses which the Lord had given to Israel.Then Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men, women, and all who could listen with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.And he read from it before the public square which was in front of the Water Gate, from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.Ezra the scribe stood at a wooden podium which they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right; and Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam on his left.Then Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up.Then Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered,“ Amen, Amen!” with the raising of their hands; then they kneeled down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites explained the Law to the people while the people remained in their place.They read from the book, from the Law of God, translating to give the sense so that they understood the reading.

After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue officials sent word to them, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.”

For I will drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the Lord your God.

They go from strength to strength, Every one of them appears before God in Zion.

Also you shall keep the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field.Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

While they stood in their place, they read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.

And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.And the scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:

He read from the Book of the Law of God daily, from the first day to the last day. And they celebrated the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a festive assembly in accordance with the ordinance.
