Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel,“ Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. (niv)

But your assistant, Joshua son of Nun, will enter it. Encourage him, because he will lead Israel to inherit it. (niv)

The Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun:“ Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you.” (niv)

So the Lord said to Moses,“ Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him.Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence.Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly.Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses. (niv)

David also said to Solomon his son,“ Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished. (niv)

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. (niv)

In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge youto keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, (niv)

After receiving the tabernacle, our ancestors under Joshua brought it with them when they took the land from the nations God drove out before them. It remained in the land until the time of David, (niv)

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. (niv)

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage— with great patience and careful instruction.For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel. (niv)

And the Lord said to Joshua,“ Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant:‘ When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’”Joshua said to the Israelites,“ Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe.And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord— the Lord of all the earth— set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.”So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah( that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground. (niv)

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (niv)

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them— to the Israelites. (niv)

“ Now, my son, the Lord be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would.May the Lord give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the Lord gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.“ I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.You have many workers: stonecutters, masons and carpenters, as well as those skilled in every kind of workin gold and silver, bronze and iron— craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and the Lord be with you.” (niv)
