But the Lord was angry with me on your account, and would not listen to me; instead, the Lord said to me,‘ Enough! Do not speak to Me any more about this matter.

但永恆主為了你們的緣故、卻向我震怒，不聽我；永恆主對我說；「罷了；再別向我重提這事了。

惟耶和華緣爾曹故怒我、不允我所求、諭我曰、如是足矣、勿以此事、再言於我、

耶和華緣爾曹怒我、不允我祈、乃告我曰、如是足矣、勿以此事再告於我、

主緣爾曹怒我、不允我所求、諭我曰、如是已矣、勿以此事再求於我、

But because of you the Lord was angry with me and would not listen to me.“ That is enough,” the Lord said.“ Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.

And he said to them,“ I am 120 years old today; I am no longer able to go out and come in, and the Lord has told me,‘ You shall not cross this Jordan.’

They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah, So that it went badly for Moses on their account.Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips.

Then the Lord said to him,“ This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying,‘ I will give it to your descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not go over there.”

David said to Solomon,“ My son, I had intended to build a house for the name of the Lord my God.But the word of the Lord came to me, saying,‘ You have shed much blood and have waged great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before Me.Behold, a son will be born to you, who shall be a man of rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.

because you broke faith with Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you did not treat Me as holy in the midst of the sons of Israel.For you will see the land at a distance but you will not go there, into the land which I am giving the sons of Israel.”

“ Go and tell David My servant,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;

then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“ Take the staff; and you and your brother Aaron assemble the congregation and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it shall yield its water. So you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and have the congregation and their livestock drink.”So Moses took the staff from before the Lord, just as He had commanded him;and Moses and Aaron summoned the assembly in front of the rock. And he said to them,“ Listen now, you rebels; shall we bring water for you out of this rock?”Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their livestock drank.But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Since you did not trust in Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, for that reason you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might leave me.

And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying,“ My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Go up to this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the sons of Israel.When you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother was;for in the wilderness of Zin, during the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against My command to treat Me as holy before their eyes at the water.”( These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.I will be his father and he shall be My son; and I will not take My favor away from him, as I took it from him who was before you.

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it.But God said to me,‘ You shall not build a house for My name, because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; The punishment for our well being was laid upon Him, And by His wounds we are healed.All of us, like sheep, have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the wrongdoing of us all To fall on Him.

But Jesus replied,“ You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They* said to Him,“ We are able.”
