Yahweh will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.

敵攻爾時、耶和華必敗之、其始攻爾也、必合一處而來、及其敗也、必分七途而遁。

敵來攻爾、主必使之為爾所敗、彼由一途來攻爾、必由七途逃於爾前、

The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

Enemies will rise up against you. But the Lord will help you win the battle over them. They will come at you from one direction. But they’ll run away from you in every direction.

“ The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

“ The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!

Yahweh sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. Yahweh confused them before Israel. He killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth Horon, and struck them to Azekah and to Makkedah.As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, Yahweh hurled down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword.

Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million troops and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah.Then Asa went out to meet him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.Asa cried to Yahweh his God, and said,“ Yahweh, there is no one besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength. Help us, Yahweh our God; for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. Yahweh, you are our God. Don’t let man prevail against you.”So Yahweh struck the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar: and so many of the Ethiopians fell that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before Yahweh and before his army; and they carried away very much booty.They struck all the cities around Gerar; for the fear of Yahweh came on them, and they plundered all the cities; for there was much plunder in them.They also struck the tents of livestock, and carried away sheep in abundance, and camels, and returned to Jerusalem.

How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had delivered them up?

Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time because Yahweh, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.

Yahweh will cause you to be struck before your enemies. You will go out one way against them, and will flee seven ways before them. You will be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.

Asa did that which was good and right in Yahweh his God’s eyes;for he took away the foreign altars and the high places, broke down the pillars, cut down the Asherah poles,and commanded Judah to seek Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and to obey his law and command.Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the sun images; and the kingdom was quiet before him.He built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because Yahweh had given him rest.

Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying,“ If you are returning to Yahweh with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to Yahweh, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served Yahweh only.

When they began to sing and to praise, Yahweh set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck.For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. When they had finished the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy each other.When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped.When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much.
