‘ Cursed is the one who kills his neighbor in private.’ Then all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

“ Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”

“ May anyone who kills their neighbor secretly be under the Lord’ s curse.” Then all the people will say,“ Amen!”

“‘ Cursed be anyone who strikes down his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

‘ Cursed is anyone who attacks a neighbor in secret.’ And all the people will reply,‘ Amen.’

‘ The one who secretly kills his neighbor is cursed.’ And all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

‘ Cursed is he who attacks his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor in secret. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Moreover, you must not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death; he must surely be put to death.

“‘ If a man beats any person to death, he must be put to death.

“ You shall not murder.

“ Whoever strikes someone so that he dies must surely be put to death.But if he does not do it with premeditation, but it happens by accident, then I will appoint for you a place where he may flee.But if a man willfully attacks his neighbor to kill him cunningly, you will take him even from my altar that he may die.

Absalom instructed his servants,“ Look! When Amnon is drunk and I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon down,’ kill him then and there. Don’t fear! Is it not I who have given you these instructions? Be strong and courageous!”

When Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside at the gate as if to speak privately with him. Joab then stabbed him in the abdomen and killed him, avenging the shed blood of his brother Asahel.
