耶和華如此說：「天是我的座位；地是我的腳凳。你們能為我造怎樣的殿宇呢？哪裏是我安歇的地方呢？這一切是我手所造的，這一切就都存在了。我所看顧的是困苦、靈裏痛悔、因我言語而戰兢的人。這是耶和華說的。

「上帝果真住在地上嗎？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足容納你，何況我所建的這殿呢？

於是我們哀求耶和華我們列祖的上帝。耶和華聽見我們的聲音，看見我們所受的困苦、勞役和欺壓，

耶路撒冷啊，我若忘記你，寧願我的右手枯萎；我若不記得你，不看你過於我最喜樂的，寧願我的舌頭貼於上膛！

耶和華向來眷念我們，他還要賜福，賜福給以色列家，賜福給亞倫家。凡敬畏耶和華的，無論大小，主必賜福給他。願耶和華使你們和你們的子孫日見增加。你們蒙了耶和華的福，他是創造天地的主宰。

因為他從至高的聖所垂看；耶和華從天向地觀看，要垂聽被囚之人的嘆息，要釋放將死的人，

求你隨你的美意善待錫安，建造耶路撒冷的城牆。

那至高無上、永遠長存、名為聖者的如此說：「我住在至高至聖的所在，卻與心靈痛悔的謙卑人同住；要使謙卑的人心靈甦醒，使痛悔的人內心復甦。

願主－我們上帝的恩寵歸於我們身上。願你堅立我們手所做的工，我們手所做的工，願你堅立。

當初上帝應許亞伯拉罕的時候，因為沒有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，就指着自己起誓，說：「我必多多賜福給你；我必使你大大增多。」這樣，亞伯拉罕因恆心等待而得了所應許的。人都是指着比自己大的起誓，並且以起誓作保證，了結各樣的爭論。照樣，上帝願意為那承受應許的人更有力地顯明他的旨意不可更改，他以起誓作保證。藉這兩件不可更改的事－在這些事上，上帝絕不會說謊－我們這些逃往避難所的人能得到強有力的鼓勵，去抓住那擺在我們前頭的指望。
