If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.

Suppose a man has just married his wife. Then don’t send him into battle. Don’t give him any other duty either. He’s free to stay home for one year. He needs time to make his new wife happy.

在你一生所有虛空的日子，就是神賜給你日光之下虛空的日子，你當與你所愛的妻一同享受人生。要知道，在日光之下的勞碌中，這就是你一生勞苦所得的份。

弟兄們，我要說這一點：時候不多了！從此有妻子的，要像沒有妻子的；

至於對那些已經結婚的人，我吩咐——其實不是我，而是主吩咐：妻子不可離開丈夫；但如果還是離開了，就應當守身不嫁，或者與丈夫和好。丈夫也不可離棄妻子。對其餘的人，我說——不是主說：如果某個弟兄有不信的妻子，而妻子情願與他一起生活，他就不可離棄妻子；同樣，如果妻子有不信的丈夫，而丈夫情願與她一起生活，她也不可離棄丈夫，因為那不信的丈夫因著妻子就得以聖潔了；而那不信的妻子也因著丈夫得以聖潔了；否則，你們的兒女就是不潔淨的；但如今他們是聖潔的。可是如果那不信的一方要離開，就讓他離開吧。在這樣的事上，那弟兄或姐妹就不受束縛了。不過神召喚了我們，是要我們和睦。

照樣，丈夫也應該愛自己的妻子，就像愛自己的身體一樣；那愛自己妻子的，就是愛自己。從來沒有人恨惡自己的身體，總是保養、顧惜它，就像基督對待教會那樣，
