Has anyone become pledged to a woman and not married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else marry her.”

Has anyone promised to be married to a woman but hasn’t done it yet? Let him go home. If he doesn’t, he might die in battle. Then someone else will marry her.”

And is there any man who has betrothed a wife and has not taken her? Let him go back to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man take her.’

Has anyone here just become engaged to a woman but not yet married her? Well, you may go home and get married! You might die in the battle, and someone else would marry her.’

“人若娶了新娘，不可从军出征，也不可派他办理任何事情。他可以在家清闲一年，使他所娶的妻快活。

你聘了妻子，别人必与她同寝；你建了房屋，却不得住在其内；你栽植了葡萄园，却不得享用所结的果子。

耶稣基督降生的事记在下面：他母亲马利亚已经许配给约瑟，还没有迎娶，马利亚就从圣灵怀了孕。

“若一女子是处女，已经许配了人，有男子在城里遇见她，与她同寝，你们就要把这二人带到那城的城门口，用石头打死他们。处死女子是因为她虽然在城里，却没有喊叫；处死男子是因为他玷污了邻舍的妻子。这样，你就把恶从你中间除掉。“若有男子在野地遇见已经许配人的女子，抓住她与她同寝，只要处死那与女子同寝的男子。

众人异口同声地推辞。头一个对他说：‘我买了一块地，必须去看看。请你准我辞了。’另一个说：‘我买了五对牛，要去试一试。请你准我辞了。’又有一个说：‘我才娶了妻子，所以不能去。’

凡当兵的，不让世务缠身，好使那招他当兵的人喜悦。
