“ But of the cities of these peoples which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance, you shall let nothing that breathes remain alive,

但是这些民族的城镇，就是耶和华—你上帝所赐给你的产业，其中凡有气息的，一个都不可存留。

你们的上帝耶和华将把你们附近各族的城邑赐给你们，你们要将里面有气息的全部消灭。

只是在耶和华你的神赐给你作产业的这些国民的城市里，凡有气息的，连一个你也不可让他活着；

只是永恆主你的上帝所賜給你以為業的這些別族之民的城市中、凡有氣息的、一個你也不要讓他活着；

惟此諸族之邑、爾上帝耶和華賜爾為業、凡有氣息者、勿留其一、

惟赫人、亞摩哩人、迦南人、比哩洗人、希未人、耶布士人、爾之上帝耶和華以其邑付爾得之、爾必盡滅其眾、凡有血氣者、不全其生、遵爾上帝耶和華命。

惟此列國之邑、主爾之天主所賜爾為業者、其中凡有血氣者、毋留其一、

However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.

But what about the cities the Lord your God is giving you as your own? Kill everything that breathes in those cities.

But in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes,

In those towns that the Lord your God is giving you as a special possession, destroy every living thing.

However, you must not let any living thing survive among the cities of these people the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.

Only in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave anything that breathes alive.

But of the cities of these peoples, that Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth;

However, you must not let any living thing survive among the cities of these people the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.

As for the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is going to give you as an inheritance, you must not allow a single living thing to survive.

And all the spoil of these cities and the livestock, the children of Israel took as booty for themselves; but they struck every man with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, and they left none breathing.

So Israel made a vow to the Lord, and said,“ If You will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.”And the Lord listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites, and they utterly destroyed them and their cities. So the name of that place was called Hormah.

Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord.”So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

“ When the Lord your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,and when the Lord your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son.For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the Lord will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly.

then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places;

On that day Joshua took Makkedah, and struck it and its king with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed them— all the people who were in it. He let none remain. He also did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

And they struck all the people who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was none left breathing. Then he burned Hazor with fire.So all the cities of those kings, and all their kings, Joshua took and struck with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded.

And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the River. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”

So they defeated him, his sons, and all his people, until there was no survivor left him; and they took possession of his land.

So they answered Joshua and said,“ Because your servants were clearly told that the Lord your God commanded His servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; therefore we were very much afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

So Joshua conquered all the land: the mountain country and the South and the lowland and the wilderness slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.

And that day Joshua made them woodcutters and water carriers for the congregation and for the altar of the Lord, in the place which He would choose, even to this day.

Also you shall destroy all the peoples whom the Lord your God delivers over to you; your eye shall have no pity on them; nor shall you serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.
