as the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us— until we cross the Jordan into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

The people of Esau, who live in Seir, allowed us to do that. The people of Moab, who live in Ar, also allowed us to do it. So let us walk through until we go across the Jordan River. Then we’ll be able to go into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

那时，以色列派使者去以东王那里，说：‘求你让我穿越你的地。’以东王却不听。以色列又照样派使者去摩押王那里，他也不肯。于是以色列人就住在加低斯。他们又经过旷野，绕过以东地和摩押地，到摩押地的东边，在亚嫩河边安营，并没有进入摩押的境内，因为亚嫩河是摩押的边界。

但是，以东对他说：“你不可从我这里穿越！否则，我要带刀出去攻击你。”

“亚扪人或摩押人不可入耶和华的会；甚至到第十代，也永不可入耶和华的会。因为你们出埃及的时候，他们没有拿食物和水在路上迎接你们，并且雇了美索不达米亚的毗夺人，比珥的儿子巴兰来诅咒你。

“你当知道，耶和华—你的神将这美地赐你为业，并不是因你的义；你本是硬着颈项的百姓。

“现在，以色列啊，听我所教导你们的律例典章，要遵行，好使你们存活，得以进入耶和华—你们列祖之神所赐给你们的地，承受为业。

耶和华对我说：‘不可侵犯摩押，也不可向他们挑战。他们的地，我不赐给你为业，因我已将亚珥赐给罗得的子孙为业。’

当用准确公正的法码和伊法，好使你的日子在耶和华—你神所赐你的地上得以长久。

“你们要走遍营中，吩咐百姓说：‘当预备食物，因为三日之内你们要过这约旦河，进去得耶和华—你们神赐给你们为业之地。’”约书亚对吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人说：“你们要记得耶和华的仆人摩西所吩咐你们的话说：‘耶和华—你们的神使你们得享安宁，必将这地赐给你们。’你们的妻子、孩子和牲畜可以留在约旦河东、摩西所给你们的地。但你们中间所有大能的勇士都要带着兵器，在你们的弟兄前面过去，你们要帮助他们。等到耶和华使你们的弟兄和你们一样得享平静，并且得着耶和华—你们神所赐他们为业之地的时候，你们才可以回到你们所得之地，承受为业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西在约旦河东、向日出的方向所给你们的地。”

我今日吩咐你的律例诫命，你要遵守，使你和你的后裔可以得福，并使你的日子一直在耶和华—你神赐你的地上得以长久。”

“耶和华又因你们的缘故向我发怒，起誓不容我过约旦河，不让我进入耶和华—你神所赐你为业的那美地。
