This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.”

必没有一人能在你们面前站立得住；耶和华你们的神，必照着他对你们所说的，使害怕和惊惧你们的心临到你们将要踏足之地的居民。

万民听见，就必战抖；疼痛恐惧抓住了非利士的居民。那时，以东的族长惊惶，摩押的英雄被战兢抓住，所有迦南的居民都胆战心寒。恐惧战兢临到他们身上；因着你大能的手臂，他们像石头一样寂然不动；直到你的人民过去，耶和华啊，直到你买赎的人民过去。

地上万民见你被称为耶和华名下的人，就必惧怕你。

我必在你面前展露我的威严；凡你所到的地方，我必使那里的人民慌乱，又使你所有的仇敌都转背而逃。

看哪！从撒但的一党，就是自称是犹太人，其实不是犹太人，而是说谎的人中，我要使他们一些人来在你脚前下拜，并且知道我已经爱了你。

他们出来的时候，埃及人很欢喜，因为埃及人都惧怕他们。

他们回答约书亚，说：“因为你的仆人确实地听见，耶和华你的神曾经吩咐他的仆人摩西，要把这整片土地赐给你们，并且要在你们面前把这地上所有的居民都消灭，因此，我们因你们的缘故，很怕丧命，才行了这事。

因为主使亚兰人的军队听见战车、战马和大军的声音；他们就彼此说：“看哪，一定是以色列王雇用了赫人的众王和埃及人的众王来攻击我们。”于是他们在黄昏的时候起来逃跑，他们丢下他们的帐幕，他们的马匹和他们的驴子；军营仍在那里，他们却只顾逃命去了。

这城必在地上万国面前使我得名声，得喜乐（按照《马索拉文本》，“得名声，得喜乐”应作“得喜乐的名声”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），得颂赞，得荣耀，因为万国必听见我向这城的人所施的一切福乐。他们因我向这城所施的一切福乐和平安，就都恐惧战兢。’

对他们二人说：“我知道耶和华已经把这地赐给你们了，你们使我们十分害怕，这地所有的居民都在你们面前胆战心惊。因为我们听见你们从埃及出来的时候，耶和华怎样使红海的水在你们面前干了，以及你们怎样对待约旦河东亚摩利人的两个王西宏和噩，把他们完全消灭。我们听见了，就都心里惊怕；没有一人再有勇气在你们面前站立；因为耶和华你们的神是天上、也是地上的神。现在求你们指着耶和华向我起誓：我既然恩待了你们，你们也要恩待我的父家，并且给我一个确实的凭据，
