If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,

If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,

Suppose a prophet appears among you. Or someone comes who uses dreams to tell what’s going to happen. He tells you that a sign or something amazing is going to take place.

“ If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

“ Suppose there are prophets among you or those who dream dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles,

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,

But as for you, don’t listen to your prophets, to your diviners, to your dreams, to your soothsayers, or to your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying,“ You shall not serve the king of Babylon;”

“ I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying,‘ I had a dream! I had a dream!’How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal.The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says Yahweh.

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says:“ Don’t let your prophets who are among you and your diviners deceive you. Don’t listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed.

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

Woe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.

“ For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.

for both prophet and priest are profane. Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says Yahweh.

Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.

“ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.

The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.

For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams. They comfort in vain. Therefore they go their way like sheep. They are oppressed, because there is no shepherd.

It will happen in that day, that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision, when he prophesies; neither will they wear a hairy mantle to deceive:

For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.

He said to him,“ I also am a prophet as you are; and an angel spoke to me by Yahweh’s word, saying,‘ Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’” He lied to him.

But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart,‘ Hear Yahweh’s word:The Lord Yahweh says,“ Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite you shall speak, saying,

Therefore you shall no more see false visions, nor practice divination. I will deliver my people out of your hand. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.’”

even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
