If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,

Suppose a prophet appears among you. Or someone comes who uses dreams to tell what’s going to happen. He tells you that a sign or something amazing is going to take place.

“ If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

“ Suppose there are prophets among you or those who dream dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles,

“ If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you,

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,

Therefore do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your dreamers, your soothsayers, or your sorcerers, who speak to you, saying,“ You shall not serve the king of Babylon.”

“ I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying,‘ I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart,who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.“ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the Lord.

For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are in your midst deceive you, nor listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

“ Because from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is given to covetousness; And from the prophet even to the priest, Everyone deals falsely.

“ For both prophet and priest are profane; Yes, in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord.

Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

“ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

The elder and honorable, he is the head; The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.

For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is no shepherd.

“ And it shall be in that day that every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they will not wear a robe of coarse hair to deceive.

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

He said to him,“ I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying,‘ Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’”( He was lying to him.)

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart,‘ Hear the word of the Lord!’”Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

You shall also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,

Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”’”

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
