Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,

If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder,

Suppose a prophet appears among you. Or someone comes who uses dreams to tell what’s going to happen. He tells you that a sign or something amazing is going to take place.

“ If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

“ Suppose there are prophets among you or those who dream dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles,

“ If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you,

“ If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

“ If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,

If there arise in the midst of thee a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,

“ If a prophet or someone who has dreams arises among you and proclaims a sign or wonder to you,

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,

So do not listen to your prophets or to those who claim to predict the future by divination, by dreams, by consulting the dead, or by practicing magic. They keep telling you,‘ You do not need to be subject to the king of Babylon.’

The LORD says,“ I have heard what those prophets who are prophesying lies in my name are saying. They are saying,‘ I have had a dream! I have had a dream!’Those prophets are just prophesying lies. They are prophesying the delusions of their own minds.How long will they go on plotting to make my people forget who I am through the dreams they tell one another? That is just as bad as what their ancestors did when they forgot who I am by worshiping the god Baal.Let the prophet who has had a dream go ahead and tell his dream. Let the person who has received my message report that message faithfully. What is like straw cannot compare to what is like grain! I, the LORD, affirm it!

“ For the LORD God of Israel who rules over all says,‘ Do not let the prophets or those among you who claim to be able to predict the future by divination deceive you. And do not pay any attention to the dreams that you are encouraging them to dream.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

“ Woe to you when all people speak well of you, for their ancestors did the same things to the false prophets.

“ That is because, from the least important to the most important of them, all of them are greedy for dishonest gain. Prophets and priests alike, all of them practice deceit.

Moreover, the LORD says,“ Both the prophets and priests are godless. I have even found them doing evil in my temple!

And many false prophets will appear and deceive many,

“ Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves.

The leaders and the highly respected people are the head, the prophets who teach lies are the tail.

For the household gods have spoken wickedness, the soothsayers have seen a lie, and as for the dreamers, they have disclosed emptiness and give comfort in vain. Therefore the people set out like sheep and become scattered because they have no shepherd.

“ Therefore, on that day each prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies and will no longer wear the hairy garment of a prophet to deceive the people.

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.

The old prophet then said,“ I too am a prophet like you. An angel told me with the LORD’s authority,‘ Bring him back with you to your house so he can eat and drink.’” But he was lying to him.

But false prophets arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift destruction on themselves.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to the prophets who prophesy from their imagination:‘ Hear the word of the LORD!This is what the sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit but have seen nothing!

The LORD told Jeremiah,“ Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite

Therefore you will no longer see false visions and practice divination. I will rescue my people from your power, and you will know that I am the LORD.’”

The arrival of the lawless one will be by Satan’s working with all kinds of miracles and signs and false wonders,
