“我今天所吩咐你的，你要谨守。我要从你面前撵出亚摩利人、迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人。

凡你所到的地方，我要使那里的众民在你面前惊骇，扰乱，又要使你一切仇敌转背逃跑。我要打发黄蜂飞在你前面，把希未人、迦南人、赫人撵出去。我不在一年之内将他们从你面前撵出去，恐怕地成为荒凉，野地的兽多起来害你。我要渐渐地将他们从你面前撵出去，等到你的人数加多，承受那地为业。

你进去得他们的地，并不是因你的义，也不是因你心里正直，乃是因这些国民的恶，耶和华你的神将他们从你面前赶出去，又因耶和华要坚定他向你列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓所应许的话。

“耶和华你神领你进入要得为业之地，从你面前赶出许多国民，就是赫人、革迦撒人、亚摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，共七国的民，都比你强大。耶和华你神将他们交给你击杀，那时你要把他们灭绝净尽，不可与他们立约，也不可怜恤他们。
