That is why the Levites have no share or inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance, as the Lord your God told them.)

That’s why the Levites don’t have any part of the land the Lord gave the other tribes in Israel. They don’t have any share among them. The Lord himself is their share. That’s what the Lord your God told them.

They shall live on the food offerings presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance.They shall have no inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites.Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the Lord.
