So you also must love outsiders. Remember that you yourselves were outsiders in Egypt.

And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.

Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.

You are also to love the resident alien, since you were resident aliens in the land of Egypt.

So show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Love ye therefore the sojourner; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

You also must love the foreigner, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

So you must love the resident foreigner because you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

Therefore love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

“ Do not treat outsiders badly. Do not give them a hard time. Remember, you were outsiders in Egypt.

“‘ Suppose an outsider lives with you in your land. Then do not treat them badly.Treat them as if they were one of your own people. Love them as you love yourself. Remember that all of you were outsiders in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

But love your enemies. Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then you will receive a lot in return. And you will be children of the Most High God. He is kind to people who are evil and are not thankful.

Suppose a brother or a sister has no clothes or food.Suppose one of you says to them,“ Go. I hope everything turns out fine for you. Keep warm. Eat well.” And suppose you do nothing about what they really need. Then what good have you done?

“ You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied.“ Do that, and you will live.”But the man wanted to make himself look good. So he asked Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”Jesus replied,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. Robbers attacked him. They stripped off his clothes and beat him. Then they went away, leaving him almost dead.A priest happened to be going down that same road. When he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.A Levite also came by. When he saw the man, he passed by on the other side too.But a Samaritan came to the place where the man was. When he saw the man, he felt sorry for him.He went to him, poured olive oil and wine on his wounds and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey. He brought him to an inn and took care of him.The next day he took out two silver coins. He gave them to the owner of the inn.‘ Take care of him,’ he said.‘ When I return, I will pay you back for any extra expense you may have.’“ Which of the three do you think was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by robbers?”The authority on the law replied,“ The one who felt sorry for him.” Jesus told him,“ Go and do as he did.”

Suppose someone sees a brother or sister in need and is able to help them. And suppose that person doesn’t take pity on these needy people. Then how can the love of God be in that person?Dear children, don’t just talk about love. Put your love into action. Then it will truly be love.

Didn’t anyone else return and give praise to God except this outsider?”

So when we can do good to everyone, let us do it. Let’s try even harder to do good to the family of believers.
