Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.

So you also must love outsiders. Remember that you yourselves were outsiders in Egypt.

So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.

You are also to love the resident alien, since you were resident aliens in the land of Egypt.

So show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Love ye therefore the sojourner; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

You also must love the foreigner, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

“ You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

“ When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

And he said to him,“ You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”Jesus replied,“ A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side.So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying,‘ Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?”He said,“ The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him,“ You go, and do likewise.”

But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
