Yahweh heard the voice of your words and was angry, and swore, saying,

“耶和华听见你们这话，就发怒，起誓说：

“你们的埋怨惹耶和华发怒，祂起誓说，

“耶和华听见了你们说话的声音，就恼怒，起誓说：

『永恆主聽見了你們的話的語氣，就惱怒，便起誓說：

When the Lord heard what you said, he was angry and solemnly swore:

don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,where your fathers tested me and tried me, and saw my deeds for forty years.Therefore I was displeased with that generation, and said,‘ They always err in their heart, but they didn’t know my ways.’As I swore in my wrath,‘ They will not enter into my rest.’”

Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

The days in which we came from Kadesh Barnea until we had come over the brook Zered were thirty- eight years: until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the middle of the camp, as Yahweh swore to them.Moreover Yahweh’s hand was against them, to destroy them from the middle of the camp, until they were consumed.
