Our kings, our princes, our priests, and our fathers have not kept your law or paid attention to your commandments and your warnings that you gave them.

The Lord spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they paid no attention.

“ As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you.

From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have persistently sent all my servants the prophets to them, day after day.Yet they did not listen to me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.

And though I have taught them persistently, they have not listened to receive instruction.

Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.Your fathers, where are they? And now, because you have done all these things, declares the Lord, and when I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and when I called you, you did not answer,

“ For twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken persistently to you, but you have not listened.You have neither listened nor inclined your ears to hear, although the Lord persistently sent to you all his servants the prophets,saying,‘ Turn now, every one of you, from his evil way and evil deeds, and dwell upon the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers from of old and forever.Do not go after other gods to serve and worship them, or provoke me to anger with the work of your hands. Then I will do you no harm.’Yet you have not listened to me, declares the Lord, that you might provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.

because they did not pay attention to my words, declares the Lord, that I persistently sent to you by my servants the prophets, but you would not listen, declares the Lord.’
