“你们这些顽固不化、心和耳都未受割礼的人哪，你们总是抗拒圣灵！你们的祖先怎样，你们也怎样。有哪一位先知，你们的祖先不逼迫呢？他们杀了那些预言那义者要来的先知，现在你们又成为那义者的出卖者和凶手了。

到了收获的季节，他就派了一个奴仆到那些农夫那里去，好让他们从葡萄园的果子中把当纳的交给他。但那些农夫打了他，叫他空手回去。园主又派另一个奴仆去，可是他们把那个人也打了，并且侮辱他，叫他空手回去。于是，他又派了第三个人去，他们又把这个人打伤，赶了出去。

没有听从耶和华我们神的话，没有遵行他藉着他的仆人众先知在我们面前所立的律法。

当收果子的季节近了，主人就派了奴仆们到那些农夫那里去收取他的果子。但那些农夫抓住他的奴仆，打了一个，杀了一个，还用石头砸死一个。主人又派别的奴仆去，比先前的更多，那些农夫也照样对待他们。后来他差派自己的儿子到他们那里，说：‘他们一定会尊重我的儿子。’“可是那些农夫看见他的儿子，就彼此说：‘这是继承人。来，我们把他杀了，占有他的继业！’于是他们抓住他，把他扔出葡萄园外，杀了。那么，葡萄园的主人回来的时候，会怎么对待那些农夫呢？”

实际上，住在耶路撒冷的人和他们的首领们都不认识这一位，也不明白每逢安息日所诵读的先知们的话，就把他定罪，从而应验了这些话。

他们对先见说：“不要看异象了！”对先知说：“不要向我们预言真确的事，要向我们说柔滑的话，预言虚幻的事！你们要离开这道，转离这路，不要在我们面前再提以色列的圣者了！”

“耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷！这城杀害先知们，又用石头砸死被差到她这里的人！我多次想聚集你的儿女，像母鸡把自己的小鸡聚集在翅膀下，可是你们不愿意！

这些犹太人不但杀了主耶稣和先知们，也驱逐了我们，并且不讨神的喜悦，又与所有的人作对，阻止我们向外邦人传道使外邦人得救。这样，他们常常积满自己的罪孽，而神的震怒在最后临到了他们身上！
