耶稣回应说：“你们不是看见了这一切吗？我确实地告诉你们：这里将绝不会有一块石头留在另一块石头上而不被拆下。”

“北方王的儿子们将发动战争，他们必招聚极大的军团，汹涌而来，如洪水漫溢，纵横穿越，一次次争战，直到南方王的堡垒。

我的力量如同瓦片一样枯干，我的舌头紧贴在上颚；你把我安放在死亡的尘土中。

又对他们说：“经上这样记着：基督必须受难，然后在第三天从死人中复活，

至于我，当我从地上被举起来的时候，就会吸引所有的人归向我。”耶稣说这话是指自己将要怎样死。众人回答他：“我们从律法中听到，基督是永远长存的。你怎么说‘人子必须被举起来’呢？这‘人子’到底是谁？”

神使那位没有罪的替我们成为罪，好使我们在他里面成为神的义。

“天国好比一个君王，为自己的儿子预备婚宴。

我不再对你们多说了。要知道，世界的那掌权者就要来了，而他对我毫无作用。

他们将倒在刀口下，被掳到各国去。耶路撒冷将要被外邦人践踏，直到外邦人的日期满了。

看哪，你们的家要被废弃成为荒场。

原来你们是为此蒙召的，因为基督也为你们受了苦害，给你们留下了榜样，好让你们追随他的脚踪。

王就发怒，派军兵除灭那些凶手，烧毁了他们的城。

因为基督也曾一次为了赎罪而受苦，就是义的代替不义的，为要把你们带到神的面前。照着肉身说，基督固然被处死了；但照着灵说，他却得以复活了。

他决意举全国之力而来，与南方王实现合约，又把自己的女儿嫁给他，为要毁灭他的国；但北方王的女儿却不站在北方王的立场上，也不支持他。

“你们现在所看见的这些，当那些日子来到的时候，将不会有一块石头留在另一块石头上而不被拆下。”

因此，看哪，主必使幼发拉底河强盛的大水，就是亚述王和他所有的威势，上涨淹没他们，又上涨淹没一切水道，漫过所有的河岸；

并且推出假见证人说：“这个人不断地说亵渎神的话语，反对这圣所和律法。我们曾听到他说，这个拿撒勒人耶稣要拆毁这地方，也要改变摩西传给我们的规矩。”

基督替我们成了诅咒，从律法的诅咒中救赎了我们，因为经上记着：“凡是被挂在木头上的，都是被诅咒的。”

他在木头上，以自己的身体亲自担当了我们的罪孽，好使我们既然向罪而死，就能向义而活；因他受的鞭伤，你们得了痊愈。

他说这话不是出于自己，只因他是当年的大祭司，就预言了耶稣要替全民族而死；而且不仅是替犹太民族死，也是要把神的那些四散的儿女都召集合一。
