因為有一天敵人要在你周圍築起壁壘把你團團圍住，四面攻擊你。他們要把你夷為平地，毀滅你城牆裡的兒女，不會留下兩塊疊在一起的石頭，因為你沒有認識到上帝眷顧你的時刻。」

耶穌對他們說：「你們看見這殿宇了嗎？我實在告訴你們，將來它要被完全拆毀，在這裡找不到兩塊疊在一起的石頭。」

「那如尼羅河漲溢，如江水奔騰的是誰呢？

至於我，當我從地上被舉起來時，必吸引萬人歸向我。」耶穌這句話指的是祂會怎樣死。眾人問：「我們從律法書上知道，基督是永遠長存的，你怎麼說『人子要被舉起來』呢？這人子是誰呢？」

上帝使無罪的基督擔當我們的罪，使我們可以藉著基督成為被上帝接納的義人。

「天國就像一個王為兒子籌備婚宴。

我不再跟你們多談，因為世界的王快要來了。他根本沒有力量勝過我，

他們要死在刀劍之下，要被擄到外國去。耶路撒冷要被外族人蹂躪，直到外族人肆虐的日期滿了為止。

你們聽見戰爭爆發、戰訊頻傳時，不要驚慌，因為這些事必然發生，只是末日還沒有到。民族將與民族互鬥，國家將與國家相爭，各處將有饑荒和地震。這些只是災難的開始。「那時，你們將遭人迫害、殺害，並因我的名而被萬民憎恨。那時，許多人會放棄信仰，互相出賣，彼此憎恨。許多假先知也會出現，迷惑許多人。由於罪惡氾濫，許多人的愛逐漸冷淡。但堅忍到底的必定得救。這天國的福音將傳遍天下，讓萬民都聽見，然後末日才會來臨。

「你們聽見戰爭爆發、戰訊頻傳時，不要驚慌，因為這些事必然發生，只是末日還沒有到。

這片土地要因此而震動，那裡的人都要悲哀。大地要像尼羅河一樣漲起，如埃及的河流翻騰退落。」

那王必與許多人締結一七之久的盟約。一七之半，他必終止祭牲和供物，並且設立帶來毀滅的可憎之物，直到所定的結局臨到這惡者。」

看啊！你們的家園將一片荒涼。

主——萬軍之耶和華觸摸大地，大地就消融，地上的人都要哀號；大地如埃及的尼羅河漲起退落。

你們蒙召也是為此，因為基督也為你們受過苦，給你們留下榜樣，叫你們可以追隨祂的腳步。

王大怒，派軍隊去剿滅凶手，燒毀他們的城。

因為基督也曾一次為罪受苦，以無罪之身代替不義之人，為要領你們到上帝面前。祂的肉體雖被處死，但祂藉著聖靈復活了。

他決意傾全國之力而來，與南方王建立聯盟，並將自己的女兒嫁給南方王，旨在推翻他的國。但北方王的計劃必然失敗，毫無收益。

耶穌說：「你們現在所見到的，將來有一天要被完全拆毀，找不到兩塊疊在一起的石頭。」

我要差來亞述王的軍隊，使他們像幼發拉底河的洪流一樣洶湧而來，淹沒一切水道，漫過河岸，

他們還派人作偽證說：「司提凡常常講侮辱聖地和律法的話。我們聽見他說那個拿撒勒人耶穌要毀壞聖殿，還要摒棄摩西傳給我們的規矩。」

但基督替我們受了咒詛，從而救贖我們脫離了律法的咒詛，因為聖經上說：「凡掛在木頭上的人都是受咒詛的。」

祂被釘在十字架上，親身擔當了我們的罪，使我們向著罪死了，可以過公義的生活。因祂所受的鞭傷，你們得到了醫治。

其實這句話不是出於他自己，只因那年他是大祭司，上帝藉著他預言耶穌將要替猶太民族死。祂不單是要替猶太民族死，也要把散居在各處的上帝的兒女聚集在一起。
