此預言、凡讀者與聞而守其所錄者、乃為有福、蓋日期伊邇也、○

由是先知之預言、更為確定、爾宜常顧之、如燈照於暗處、待日始旦、明星照耀爾心、或作因此我儕更當以先知之預言為確定此預言如燈照暗處爾若顧之待爾心中如日始旦晨星出現此乃為美最要者、當知經之一切預言、不可以私意解之、蓋預言素非由人意而來、乃天主所選之聖人、感於聖神而言之者、

昔先知預言爾所將得之恩、探索此救道而研究之、基督之神、在先知心中、預言基督受苦後得榮、彼考察神所指者、為何期何時、先知得默示、知所宣之事非為己、乃為我儕、此事賴自天所遣之聖神而傳福音者已告爾、天使亦願詳察此事焉、○

爾自幼識聖經、聖經能使爾有智慧、由信基督而得救、聖經皆由天主默示所作、有益於教誨督責、使人歸正、教人學義、使事天主之人、得以純全練達、能行諸善事、

因此緣爾之故、郇邑盡成田疇、為人所耕、耶路撒冷變為瓦礫、斯殿之山、將如林中之荒邱、

天主歟、異邦人擅入主之境、污穢主之聖殿、使耶路撒冷變為荒邱、將主之僕人之屍、予空中之飛鳥為食、將敬畏主虔誠人之肉軀、飼地上之野獸、

我但以理見異象、欲明其義、有立我前者、其狀若人、我聞烏萊河兩岸之中、有人聲呼云、迦伯列、使斯人明此異象、

當猶大王希西家之時、摩利沙人米迦為先知、告猶大民眾云、萬有之主如是云、郇將變為田、為人所耕、耶路撒冷將變為瓦礫、斯殿之山、將如林中荒邱、

哀哉斯邑、居民素多、今則寂寞、若嫠婦獨坐、昔於諸國中最大、列邦尊以為后、而今反為人供役、為人供役或作納貢

邑毀而荒、宅第咸閉、無人得入、人因乏酒、在通衢哀號、一切歡樂、盡歸無有、國中喜樂無存、邑中荒蕪、邑門被毀、成為邱墟、

則我必使斯殿如示羅、使此邑為天下萬邦所詛、

宦官謂腓立曰、請問先知言此指誰、指己乎、指他人乎、

我之通達勝於諸師、因我思念主之法度、我有知識、逾於老成人、因我遵守主之命令、

爾觀先知但以理所言、殘賊可惡之物、立於聖地、讀者當悟之、

予耶路撒冷、及猶大諸邑、予厥王公、使邑毀滅、土地荒蕪、被人恥笑咒詛、有如今日、

我使猶大諸邑、及耶路撒冷街衢、無欣喜之聲、無歡樂之聲、無新娶者之聲、無新婦之聲、斯地變為荒蕪、

主之聖邑荒涼、郇城荒蕪、耶路撒冷已成邱墟、

專務誦讀勸勉教誨、以待我至、

主之法度為我所喜悅、當作我之謀士、○

我曰、主歟、此事將至何時而止乎、曰、迨乎城邑寂寞、內無居民、宅第空虛無人、土地盡歸荒蕪、主必使斯地之民、徙諸遠邦、致斯地極其蕭條、

爾見先知但以理所言、殘賊可惡之物、立不當立之地、讀者當思之、時、在猶太者、當逃於山、

列國之民必服事之、延及子孫、迨滅其國之時已屆、則眾多之邦國、強大之君王、必勒令巴比倫王服事、

聖殿中一切所有、悉被仇敵毀傷、日久荒涼、求主舉步往察、主之聖會中仇敵喧譁、豎其旗幟、作為記號、觀其所為、如人舉斧砍伐林木、凡殿中雕刻之物、皆以錘以斧、砍毀傷壞、縱火焚燬主之聖殿、將主名之居所、拆毀蕩然、
