I, Daniel, was worn out. I lay exhausted for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business. I was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding.

撒母耳睡到清晨，打开耶和华殿的门。撒母耳怕告诉以利那异象，

因此，唯独剩下我一人看到了这极大的异象；我里面一点力气都没有，我的脸色变得如同死灰，我的力气也留存不住，

看哪！那位样子像人的碰了我的嘴唇，我就开口说话。我对那位站在我面前的说：“我主啊！因这异象，剧痛临到我身上，我的力气就留存不住。

我看见公山羊接近公绵羊，怒气冲冲地撞击它，折断了它的两只犄角，公绵羊就没有力量在公山羊面前站立得住。公山羊把它撞倒在地，踩踏它，没有谁能解救公绵羊脱离公山羊的权势。

我在异象中观看，看见自己在以拦省的苏萨城堡中；我在异象中继续观看，又看见自己在乌莱运河边。

我听说过你里面有神的灵，也发现你里面有光明、悟性、超卓的智慧。

王就提拔了但以理，赐给他许多贵重的礼物，使他统辖巴比伦全省，并且立他为总长之首管理巴比伦的所有智慧人。但以理向王提出请求，王就指派沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥管理巴比伦省的事务；但以理却留在王的宫廷中。

又在他们之上任命三位总督察，但以理是其中之一；这些行政官要向他们三位负责交代，好使王不受损失。这但以理在总督察和行政官中出类拔萃，因为在他里面有超卓的灵性；王就打算任命他治理全国。
