但以理啊，这些话要保密，要把这书封起来，直到末了。许多人必四处探究，因而知识必增多。”

我来是要使你明白将来你同胞的遭遇，因为这异象是关于将来的事。”

他说：“但以理啊，你走吧，因为这些事要保密，要被封起来，一直到末了。

他又对我说：“不可封住这卷书上的预言，因为时候快到了。

“人子啊，你看，以色列人在说，‘他见的异象是关乎多年后的事，他说的预言是针对遥远的未来。’

我正要将雷鸣的意思记录下来，就听见天上有声音说：“你要封住七声雷鸣所说的事，别写下来。”

对她说：“你要和我住许多日子。这期间不可行淫，不可亲近别的男人，我也不与你同房。”以色列人也要有许多日子没有君王和首领，没有祭祀和神柱，也没有以弗得和家庭神像。

它狂妄自大，要与天军的统帅比高，它废除日常献给祂的祭，毁坏祂的圣所。因为反叛的缘故，天军和日常所献的祭都交给了它。它将真理抛在地上，它所行的无不顺利。接着，我听见一位圣者在说话，另一位圣者问他：“异象中出现的有关日常所献的祭，毁灭性的反叛和践踏圣所及天军的事要持续多久呢？”他对我说：“两千三百个昼夜。之后，圣所才会洁净。”我但以理看见这异象，正想明白它的意思，忽然有一个外貌像人的站在我面前。

他们必像囚犯一样被聚在一起，关在牢里，日后必受惩罚。
