至於我－但以理，我的靈在我裏面憂傷，我腦中的異象使我驚惶。

神說一次、兩次，人卻不理會。世人在床上沉睡安眠時，在夢中和夜間的異象裏，神就開通世人的耳朵，把警告印在他們心上，

耶和華回答我，說：將這默示清楚地寫在看板上，使人容易朗讀。

所以，你要把所看見的事、現在的事和以後將發生的事，都寫下來。

尼布甲尼撒在位第二年，他做了很多夢，心裏煩亂，不能睡覺。

耶和華說：「你們要聽我的話：你們中間若有先知，我－耶和華必在異象中向他顯現，在夢中與他說話；

夜間，神在異象中對以色列說：「雅各！雅各！」他說：「我在這裏。」

我在夜間的異象中觀看，看哪，有一位像人子的，駕着天上的雲而來，被領到亙古常在者面前。

『神說：在末後的日子，我要將我的靈澆灌凡血肉之軀的。你們的兒女要說預言；你們的少年要見異象；你們的老人要做異夢。在那些日子，我要把我的靈澆灌，甚至給我的僕人和婢女，他們要說預言。

耶利米召了尼利亞的兒子巴錄來；巴錄就從耶利米口中，把耶和華對耶利米所說的一切話寫在書卷上。

只有那在天上的神能顯明奧祕。他已把日後將要發生的事指示尼布甲尼撒王。你在床上做的夢和你腦中的異象是這樣：你，王啊，你在床上所思想的是關乎日後的事，那顯明奧祕的主已把將來要發生的事指示你。

從前所寫的聖經都是為教導我們寫的，要使我們藉着忍耐和因聖經所生的安慰，得着盼望。

雖然自誇無益，我還是不得不誇。我現在要提到主的異象和啟示。

列國都要服事他和他的子孫，直到他本國遭報的日期來到；那時，許多國家和大君王要使他作奴隸。

伯沙撒啊，你是他的兒子，你雖知道這一切，卻不謙卑自己，

在三十年四月初五，我在迦巴魯河邊被擄的人當中，那時天開了，我看見神的異象。

其後，我在夜間的異象中觀看，看哪，第四獸可怕可懼，極其強壯，有大鐵牙，吞吃嚼碎，剩下的用腳踐踏。這獸與前面所有的獸不同，牠有十隻角。

當夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被殺。

七個雷發聲後，我正要寫出來，就聽見從天上有聲音說：「七個雷所說的，你要封上，不可寫出來。」

這些事以後，耶和華的話在異象中臨到亞伯蘭，說：「亞伯蘭哪，不要懼怕！我是你的盾牌，你必得豐富的賞賜。」

耶和華對我說：「你取一塊大板子，拿人的筆，寫上『瑪黑珥‧沙拉勒‧哈施‧罷斯』。

現在你要去，在他們面前將這話刻在版上，寫在書上，以便流傳後世，直到永永遠遠。

伯沙撒王在位第三年，有異象向我－但以理顯現，是在先前所見的異象之後。
